Classwork: Today we continued playing the scavenger hunt game to become more familiar with the constitution. In small groups you created a Constitution Report Card to see if it holds up to the basic principles and american ideals. Any remaining class time was used to work on your homework.

Classwork: Today we reviewed the amendments to the constitution and took notes on the 6 basic principles of the Constitution (these notes can be found in the power point from yesterdays blog post). We played a Constitution Scavenger hunt game in class.

Classwork: Today we reviewed the AOC Graphic Org. and discussed its strengths and weaknesses. We took notes on the problems of the AOC and how the U.S. Constitution was created.
Classwork: Today we briefly discussed last nights presidential debate. We took notes on the writing of the Articles of Confederation. The end of class was used to fill out the AOC Graphic Org. - this is due tomorrow.

Classwork: Today we reviewed the major battles and impact this war had on the New Nation. We played Kahoot to review for the unit test on Monday.

Classwork: Today we read Declaration of Independence and excerpts from Common Sense. and completed a Venn-Diagram I introduced the Rev. War Comic Strip assignment and you had the majority of class to work on this. Unit Test on Monday.

Classwork: Today we worked in small groups and discussed the options we read from last night. In these groups you discussed/debated the best option the Colonist had regarding their decision with Britain. Any remaining class time was used to start your homework for tonight.

Classwork: Today we took notes on the French & Indian War and the Causes of the American Rev. war. The last 20 minutes was used to critically read a different perspective regarding the option to go to war or not.

Classwork: Today we critically read different articles about Puritan Values and how they have shaped our modern world. At your table groups you filled out the Puritan note sheet.
Homework: None. You will have time tomorrow to finish the puritan drawing.
Classwork: Today, you used the the Jamestown DBQ to write a thesis with evidence and analysis to support a claim as to why the death rate was so high in the early stages of settlement. You took notes on the 13 colonies.
Classwork: Today we walked around the classroom and took notes on the different Native American tribes and discussed their culture in relation to early colonial history. We watched an episode of crash course to further our discussion.
Homework: Please critically read the documents in the Jamestown DBQ and bring to class tomorrow.
Classwork: Today we took the US State/Capital quiz. In groups you research different native american tribes and presented this information to the class. If you were absent today you will be excused from this activity - but expected to take notes on the tribe jigsaw on Monday.

Classwork: Today we took a practice map quiz and corrected in class. We got back in our Roanoke groups to discuss our theories about what happened to this lost colony as well as what evidence best supported our claims.

Classwork: Today we spent the majority of class discussing what we already know about US History and what we want to know more about. We also discussed our journal questions about values and ideals in America. The last 15 minutes of class was used to work on labeling your US map (states & capitals)
