We discussed how your generation may see things differently from your parents and how that might create harmony and/or conflict. We discussed the counter culture movement in the 1960s. The second half of class was used to work on the Mainstream/Counter Culture chart

Classwork: Today we continued to discuss conformity. We took notes on popular culture from the 1950s and watched an episode of I Love Lucy. We also finished the Korean War documentary and discussed this war's impact on the US.
Homework: Watch one of the following 50s TV shows from below or access them though other streaming services. You do not have to watch an entire episode if there is a time constraint, but at least 10-15 minutes. Be prepared to discuss how it compares to I Love Lucy, the ideas of conformity and TV in today's society. (Please complete by Monday 3/12)

Classwork: Today we took notes on the causes of the Korean War and watched a documentary about why this war is often called the Forgotten War (viewing guide). We also discussed how this war compared to previous wars the US has been involved in.
Homework: Please bring headphones to class tomorrow. We will be watching videos in class, therefore, if you prefer to use your own device please bring your personal laptop. If not, I will have laptops in class for you to use.
