Classwork: Today you watched Mrs. Parsons 'epic fail' at teaching the Charleston dance. We transformed the classroom into a 1920s speakeasy. Each student was a different celebrity from the 1920s and we mingled with each other to learn about popular culture and how trends were shaped during the 1920s. I also collected your Flapper Research assignment. If you were absent today, you can still fill in the chart from our speakeasy using chapter 28 in the textbook.
Homework: Study for test on Thursday. 1920s Collage is due on Friday.
Classwork: Today I passed out the study guide for the test on Thursday. We talked about women and flappers in the 1920s. You worked on a Flapper research activity to better understand how the role of women changed post WWI in the Untied States.
Homework: Finish the Flapper research activity if you did not do so in class.

Classwork: Today we talked about language and how it portrays culture and society. We used slang from the 1920s and created skits and performed them for the class.
Classwork: Today we completed our prep work sheet for the S.A.C. In pairs you discussed both sides of the arguments regarding the Palmer Raids during the 1920s. We also, as a class, discussed issues in today's society that are similar in nature to d our best to understand the impact. At the end of class we continued working on our thesis writing skills. Bring your best 'inner actor or actress' tomorrow!
Classwork: Today we looked at different ads from the 1920s and discussed what was similar and different to today's society as well as what the ads could tell us about 1920s culture.
Homework: Continue working on the Palmer Raids S.A.C. Sheet - you will only have 15-20 min tomorrow to complete it.
Classwork: Today we briefly discussed the rise and fear of communism in the Untied State in the 1920s. We started working on our Structured Academic Controversy by looking at historical sources and documents to determine if the Palmer Raids were necessary for National Security or a violation of individual rights. This information will be used in a structured debate in class on Thursday.
Homework: Continue to work on Red Scare S.A.C. if needed
Classwork: Today we reviewed our peace and prosperity chart from Friday and discussed what the US was like post WWI. We also took notes on the early stages of the 1920s regarding prohibition, Organized Crime, the Harlem Renaissance and the revival of the KKK.
*I have posted grades for your Fall research paper. If you would like to discuss your grade you must schedule a time to meet with me in person. You may opt to re-write your paper, which will be due before winter break.
