Classwork: Today we peer edited outlines for the research paper. By the end of class you should of had at least 2 different people look at your outline and provide feedback. We spent the remaining time working on the monarch baseball cards with Charlie Brown and the Great Pumpkin playing in the back ground.
Homework: Works Cited is due on Monday - you need a hard copy in class.
Classwork: Today we continued to look at absolute monarchy in Russia. We reviewed the reading from the textbook last night and watched a documentary about Peter the Great. We also discussed norms for peer editing our class. If you are absent you need to have someone peer edit over the weekend - this could be a friend, sibling or parent.
Homework: Outline is due tomorrow. It needs to be uploaded to turnitin.com and you need to bring a hard copy to class.

By the end of today all of your research should be complete and you should start thinking about the writing process, specifically the outline. In class on Monday we will talk more in-depth about outlines, however, if you would like to get an early start you can access outline guides under the research paper resources on the right.

Classwork: Today we had shorter class periods due to an AM assembly. In class you solved a murder mystery to better understand how evidence and thesis statements relate to each other. I went over tips/tricks about writing thesis statements and looked at examples of good, bad and ugly thesis statements.
Homework: Thesis Check 1 is due tomorrow. Write the best thesis you can based upon the evidence you have collected so far.
