Classwork: Today we continued to analyze and discuss photos of child labor from the 1800s. We started watching a documentary about child labor in Britain. During this film you were asked to take down notes about the working conditions and impact on society. We will finish this documentary when we return from break.

Classwork: Today we finished the Urban Game. We started analyzing photos from the industrial revolution, specifically looking at child labor. We will debrief and discuss the photos tomorrow in class.
Classwork: Today I collected the disease and sanitation drawings. We played a simulation game to better understand the impact of industry in the major cities of Britain.
Classwork: Today we took notes on the causes of the Industrial Revolution and why it started in Britain.
Homework: Finish reading the Disease and Sanitation article and complete the visual.
Classwork: Today we finished watching the Lorax. We had a class discussion about how the themes in the movie reflect the themes of the Industrial Rev. We will start taking notes on the early stages of the Industrial Rev. tomorrow.
Classwork: Today we continued watching The Lorax as an introduction to our Industrial Revolution unit. There are viewing guide questions that should be answered as we watch the film. We will finish the film on Monday and discuss the questions then.
Classwork: Today we continued to work on our C.O.V. Activity. With your group you created a poster that outlined your plan to rebuild Europe and promote stability in the early 1800s. You were then placed into delegate groups to re-create the Congress of Vienna and discussed what should be done with France and Europe after the reign of Napoleon. We debriefed as a class about the importance of world leaders coming together and promoting safety and security across multiple countries. We started watching The Lorax for the last part of class.
Classwork: Today we used the class as a work period for the C.O.V. Simulation - you worked with your assign group to decide what was your plan or strategy for our simulated congress of Vienna.
Homework: If you did not finish the grey worksheet for the C.O.V. Simulation it needs to be completed at home. I will check them off at the start of class tomorrow.
Classwork: Today we took a brief quiz about Napoleon and discusses his strengths/weaknesses as well as his mistakes, which eventually lead to his downfall and exile. We did an in-class writing activity to synthesize all that we have learned about Napoleon. I introduced the Congress of Vienna activity and gave you some work time to get started and ask questions. Classwork: Today we talked about the idea of destiny and the importance it can play in peoples lives. We watched a short video clip (the first 17 min) about Napoleon's early life and discussed the impact it had on him as an adult.
Homework: Read pages 592-599 (The Age of Napoleon) and complete the T-Chart. Be prepared for a quiz at the start of class tomorrow.
